The future of community banking requires bold leaders — those who think and act critically and creatively to solve problems in their customers’ and communities’ best interest. The Graduate School of Banking at Colorado (GSBC) is pleased to continue empowering community bankers through its Committed to Lead micro-credential.

Why Earn the Committed to Lead Micro-Credential?

A micro-credential is a short, competency-based recognition, and is available to second- and third-year students at GSBC. Those who enroll in Committed to Lead are exposed to opportunities that better shape them to be future-oriented community bank leaders. This exposure comes in the form of CEO Perspectives, which are interviews with community bank CEOs about leadership perspectives and practices. They also attend a Development Needs of New CEOs lecture designed by GSBC’s experience with its Executive Development Institute for Community Bankers®.

Students also complete an in-depth personal development plan via an online, interactive workbook, giving each participant a tangible take away to nurture their career and personal development needs post-graduation.

GSBC’s Commitment to Shaping Community Bank Leaders

“Leadership always matters. Leaders with a future-oriented mindset and a solid foundation in the essential elements of banking are the formula for a resilient bank and industry. The industry needs leaders who are positioned to lead through change and turmoil. It needs leaders who will continue to innovate the community banking business model to meet the needs of our economically diverse country. Committed to Lead is designed to contribute to this effort and identify those individuals who, when given the opportunity, demonstrate that they are committed to lead.” – GSBC President & CEO Michael Stevens.
