Community Bankers Summit

July 27-29, 2026 | University of Colorado | Boulder, CO

Reactivating Your GSBC Experience

The Community Bankers Summit extends the GSBC experience for alumni carrying strategic leadership responsibility, bringing renewed perspective, sharper thinking and meaningful peer connection back to Boulder.

Overview

The Community Bankers Summit exists to extend the value of the GSBC experience for alumni and the banks that invested in their leadership. GSBC was never meant to be a one-and-done program. The Summit reactivates the GSBC way of thinking, updated for today’s environment and aligned with the realities alumni now face as senior leaders guiding their institutions forward.

The Summit Experience

Rally Your GSBC Network

GSBC has always been more than a classroom. The Summit is designed to be experienced together, encouraging alumni to return to Boulder with former classmates, peer group members, and GSBC friends. Coming back as a cohort deepens conversation, accelerates trust, and allows peers to pick up where they left off – this time with years of leadership experience to bring to the table.

Designed for Where You Are

The Community Bankers Summit meets GSBC alumni exactly where they are: experienced leaders facing new risks, stewards navigating profound change and bankers who still believe in the GSBC way of leading. This program is intentionally valuable for both senior leaders and recent graduates, offering shared discussions with individualized takeaways based on where participants are in their leadership journey.

What to Expect

What Attendees Take Away

By reactivating the GSBC way of thinking, the Summit equips alumni to lead what comes next, with:

  • Renewed strategic perspective for today’s leadership realities
  • Peer-level insight from trusted GSBC alumni
  • Practical takeaways with immediate organizational impact
  • Stronger confidence navigating complexity and change
  • A revitalized GSBC leadership network to rely on moving forward

How Those Outcomes Are Achieved

Peer Learning That Starts Where GSBC Left Off

Through facilitated Connection Labs, alumni engage in peer-level dialogue grounded in the GSBC way of thinking. These discussions create space for candid insight, shared experience, and actionable reflection that directly informs leadership decisions back at the bank.

Afternoon Electives with Current Students

Alumni return to the Wolf Law classrooms with new perspective, learning alongside current GSBC students to:

  • Get a focused refresh on today’s most pressing community banking issues
  • Reexamine familiar concepts through real-world leadership experience
  • Gain insight into how the next generation of bank leaders is thinking and learning

What People Are Saying

The Community Bankers Summit is an exceptional program that strengthened my professional connections, refined my leadership acumen, and will have a lasting impact on my career. The guided discussions and expert insights offered by CU Boulder’s Leeds School of Business faculty equipped me with practical tools to address real-world, complex leadership challenges and helped clarify my leadership values, strategies and priorities. The Leader Reactions Course is an unforgettable immersive experience that tested my limits and enhanced my problem-solving skills. I highly recommend the Summit to anyone seeking to elevate their professional journey.

The Executive Leadership Symposium and Community Bankers Summit was an exemplary event covering all of the major concerns facing community bankers today. The connections made and lessons learned at this event are essential for community banks to stay relevant and continue to serve the communities that depend on them. This event is another example of the GSBC’s commitment to excellence and providing continuing education to the alumni of the school.

Staying relevant and current in today’s ever-changing economy is more important now than ever. Attending GSBC's Executive Leadership Symposium at the Leeds School of Business allowed me to reconnect with other alumni and, more importantly, garner valuable insight and information from a variety of leadership and industry specialists. The Symposium was high quality, hands on and suitable to growing as a leader.
