5 Class Hours
Instructors: Elizabeth Bradley and Jeff Phillips
This course challenges students to move beyond day-to-day bank management and begin thinking like long-term industry leaders. After managing a bank through the GSBC simulation, students shift their focus to strategic leadership by building a bold vision for their institution ten years into the future.
In this course, students develop a 2036 vision for their simulated bank, exploring the markets they will serve, the products and services they will offer, the technologies they will adopt, and the leadership talent required to guide the organization forward. They also consider growth strategies, capital planning, governance, and potential regulatory challenges.
For community bankers, this exercise mirrors the real challenge facing the industry today: leading through rapid change while positioning their organizations for long-term success. By thinking deeply about the future of banking—technology, talent, growth and strategy—students gain practical insight they can immediately apply within their own institutions.
