This micro-credential is offered in partnership with FHLBank Topeka’s Affordable Housing Institute and Metropolitan State University of Denver. It is available as supplementary coursework to all GSBC students and is designed to educate participants on affordable housing finance and the role of community banks in supporting such initiatives. The program begins with an overview of the history of mortgage finance and affordable housing in the U.S., then explores how projects are funded today, who the key developers are and how community banks can engage in this evolving space. This is a specialized area of study addressing a topic of national significance.
