In the midst of all the COVID-19 chaos, GSBC alum, Michelle Hodge ’17, shared a touching Celebrate 70 story about her best friend and fellow GSBC Alum, Molly (Carpenter) Day’s, virtual wedding on March 21. The two met on their very first day at GSBC in July 2015 and here’s a recap of how the GSBC-bonded friends celebrated Molly’s big day:

“Molly and Matt got married on March 21, 2020. In the 10 days leading up to the wedding, there were a lot of concerns that they may have to cancel. On Monday, March 16, Molly sent text messages to the wedding party stating that they were going to do immediate family only. They set up a livestream of the wedding for all guests and wedding party attendants to watch. The groomsmen all wrote Matt letters for him to read before the wedding and the bridesmaids put together a slideshow of pics and a video from each bridesmaid wishing them well. All bridesmaids still dressed up in our dresses. They also livestreamed their first dance, dances with their family, and speeches.”

This story is an installment in GSBC’s “Celebrate 70” campaign, which aims to engage the school’s students, alumni, faculty and supporters in a year-long commemoration of its history, accomplishments and traditions.
