Brent Klanderud currently serves as the regional ombudsman for the Kansas City Region of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). In that capacity, he serves as a confidential, neutral and independent source of information and assistance to anyone affected by the FDIC in its regulatory, resolution, receivership or asset disposition activities. He works with other FDIC decisions and offices as a liaison to resolve issues and serves as a resource to answer questions about FDIC policies and procedures. He is committed to actively engaging with stakeholders, as well as promoting transparency relative to agency activities.

He has spent the majority of his 37-year FDIC career involved in community bank oversight in the Division of Risk Management Supervision. This segment of his career culminated with serving as the Field Supervisor for the Omaha, Nebraska, territory until February 2020 when he joined the Office of the Ombudsman. Brent graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado in 1999 and serves as a regulator for the school’s Bank Management Simulation course.
