GSBC is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Needham, president and CEO of The First Security Bank in Overbrook, Kan., to its Alumni Advisory Board. Needham will represent the state of Kansas, playing a key role in supporting alumni engagement and strategic outreach in a vital region of GSBC’s footprint.
A 2015 graduate of GSBC, Needham brings a lifelong connection to community banking and a deep understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing today’s rural and suburban financial institutions. He leads a $100 million institution serving Overbrook and surrounding communities in the Topeka and Kansas City metro areas.
Needham represents the second generation of his family to serve on GSBC leadership boards; his father Kent Needham served on GSBC’s Board of Trustees from 1993-2000 and received the school’s Scarboro Award recognizing his dedication to banker education in 2015.
“Michael and his family represent GSBC’s values and commitment to community banking’s legacy well,” said GSBC Vice President of Strategy & Experience Josie Bunch. “We are fortunate to have him involved to help lead Kansas outreach and advise on how to best serve a critical state in GSBC’s footprint into the future.”
As a member of the Alumni Advisory Board, Needham will collaborate with seven fellow alumni leaders representing GSBC’s key states to enhance the GSBC student experience, inform strategic initiatives and encourage alumni engagement across Kansas.
