Josie Bunch, Vice President of Strategy and Experience at the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado (GSBC), has been honored as one of 40 emerging business leaders in Boulder Valley. The recognition is part of the Boulder Valley and Northern Colorado 40 Under Forty initiative to honor those who are making a mark on their communities through professional success and volunteer activities.

Josie became part of the community when she moved to the area from Iowa after her undergraduate journey at Kansas State University. Upon obtaining her master’s degree from the University of Colorado Boulder, she took the marketing helm of GSBC in 2012. Her passion and family roots in community banking have driven her commitment to be a key leader for the organization.

Under her guidance and creativity, GSBC has reached record enrollment for its hallmark program. Beyond that, Josie has created a one-of-a-kind peer group program to accelerate the relationship building of new students. Additionally, Bunch recruits and nurtures rising stars for GSBC’s distinctive Executive Development Institute for Community Bankers ®. To top those accomplishments, she initiated the Bolder Banking platform of the school to highlight innovative solutions deployed by community banks.

GSBC President & CEO Michael Stevens admires her work, stating, “This is a well-deserved recognition for a transformational leader for GSBC and the community. Josie is committed to making a difference for the bankers and regulators who participate in our programs, but she is also passionate about our customers experiencing the best of the Boulder area.”

GSBC was founded in 1950. Josie has been an integral part of its success since joining the GSBC team.
