Ali Nejadmalayeri, Ph.D., CFA (known to students as “Dr. N”) is a Full Professor of Finance and former John A. Guthrie Endowed Chair in Banking and Financial Services at the University of Wyoming College of Business. He also served as a John and Esther Clay Honors College Faculty Fellow. Previously, he held the ONEOK Chair in Finance and served as Ph.D. Program Director at Oklahoma State University’s Spears School of Business, and earlier, the Jay and Fayenelle Helm Professorship. His academic career began with faculty roles at the University of Nevada–Reno as Finance Area Coordinator and Student-Managed Fund advisor.

Professor Nejadmalayeri has taught a broad spectrum of finance courses—corporate finance, investments, portfolio management, banking, and financial institutions—across undergraduate, MBA, and doctoral curricula. He currently teaches courses on Blockchains, FinTech, and Digital Financial Services, and has been repeatedly nominated for teaching excellence awards.

His research bridges corporate decision-making, capital markets, and emerging financial technologies. He has published in top outlets including Review of Finance, Journal of Corporate Finance, and Journal of Banking and Finance. Notably, he co-authored Stablecoins: Past, Present, and Future, a peer-reviewed contribution on stablecoins in the Financial Cryptography and Data Security volume, addressing the design, stability dynamics, and evolving role of stablecoins in digital finance.

He serves as a Senior Editor at Global Finance Journal and on multiple editorial boards, and is an academic steering committee member of the Blockchain Governance Initiative Network (BGIN)—a multi-stakeholder organization of regulators, industry experts, and scholars—which reflects his leadership at the intersection of finance and governance.

Nejadmalayeri is a dedicated mentor whose former students include founders, senior executives, regulators, and academics. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering (University of Tehran), an MBA (Texas A&M University), and a Ph.D. in Finance (University of Arizona), and his professional background includes engineering in the oil and gas sector and consulting for multinational firms and local governments.
