Matthew Hanson is the Market President in Colorado Springs for Alpine Bank having accepted the position in early 2023, with the opportunity to open a new market for Alpine Bank. Prior to moving back to Colorado Springs, he spent the last 10 years in Summit County serving as the branch manager of the bank’s Brackenridge location and then serving his final three years in the community as Regional President.
Matthew grew up in Colorado Springs, and following graduation from high school, he attended the University of New Mexico, playing two fall seasons with the UNM baseball team, received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in chemistry. He returned to Colorado Springs and helped open a local golf course. He met his wife here at the time (a Colorado Springs native) and shortly after getting married, moved into the mountains of Colorado t0 manage two golf courses over three years: The Raven at Three Peaks in Silverthorne, CO and Gypsum Creek Golf Course in Gypsum, CO.
In 2011, Matthew was hired with Alpine Bank in Avon, CO. In the following years, he became a lending officer and branch manager for the company. Shortly, thereafter he attend GSBC, graduating the program in 2016. Following that, he completed two leadership programs with Wharton Aresty Institute of Executive Education, University of Pennsylvania on leading and managing people along with a program for high-potential leaders, Matthew completed the Executive Development Institute with the Graduate School of Banking at CU in 2022.
When Matthew is not working, he can be found helping coach two of his four kids in baseball, enjoying the outdoors on a run, golfing with his family or hiking a 14er with his oldest son. He is also busy in the community sitting on six non-profit boards, five of which are based in Colorado Springs.
