GSBC is pleased to announce the appointment of Alex Keltner, president of First Southern National Bank in Russellville, Ky., to its board of trustees. Keltner is the first representative from the state of Kentucky to join GSBC’s governing board, marking a milestone in the school’s expanding national reach.

Keltner brings more than three decades of community banking experience to his role as president of First Southern National Bank, where he has been a dedicated team member since 1994. Throughout his tenure, he has held a variety of leadership positions, including community president and chief banking officer, each of which helped shape his strategic vision and people-first approach to banking. In June 2018, he was named president, continuing to guide the organization with a commitment to excellence, innovation and customer service.

A strong advocate for professional development, Alex is a 2014 graduate of GSBC. He remains actively engaged in industry leadership and mentoring the next generation of community bankers.

As a trustee, Keltner will help guide GSBC’s strategic direction and ensure its curriculum and offerings continue to meet the evolving needs of community banks across the country. His addition to the board reflects GSBC’s commitment to diversifying its leadership and strengthening ties with banking communities across all regions of the U.S.

“I am grateful that Alex has agreed to lend his experience and expertise to our corporate governance,” said GSBC President Michael Stevens. “GSBC is an increasingly popular choice for Kentucky bankers. We will benefit from the state’s representation on our Board of Trustees.”
