3 Class Hours

First year students will be introduced to key concepts in the areas of bank performance analysis, planning and asset & liability management by participating in the Integrated Case Study. During the first week of the session, your class will be divided into teams, with each team representing the bank’s Risk Management Committee. Use key concepts, discussions with your peers and information you bring from your prior banking experience your teams will analyze a sample bank, Bank of GSBC, as follows: financial performance, identify specific metrics to measure, suggest specific policy guidelines and processes to improve governance practices and address all criticisms and weaknesses identified in the state’s examination and to identify specific operating strategies to improve the bank’s risk profile and overall profitability over the next three years.
