This course will focus on the global and domestic economic forces and trends that will impact agricultural and rural portfolios as well as individual credits. The latest dashboard economic indicators and metrics will be explained, and students will learn how they can be applied and utilized in banks’ strategies and actions. The latest agricultural credit benchmarks, indicators, and trends will be presented and discussed through actual case studies focused on smaller and larger credits. Agricultural credit risk rating systems that can be used to identify opportunities and challenges in credit will also be highlighted. This course is designed to build upon foundational agricultural credit courses of state schools and associated training with emphasis on discussion and class interaction.
