Bob Monroe, former chairman of the firm’s Financial Services Division, serves as counsel to well over 200 financial institutions. Bob has significant experience in matters involving bank and bank holding company mergers and formations, branch acquisitions, negotiating regulatory orders, bank examination issues, prompt corrective actions, reorganizations, succession planning, representing buyers of failed banks, interstate banking issues, director and officer liability issues, lender liability issues and capital issues.

Bob is listed in Best Lawyers in America for Banking Law, Corporate Law and Mergers & Acquisitions Law, and was named Kansas City Banking Lawyer of the Year in 2009 and 2014. He was selected for the KCMBA Baron’s of the Boardroom for a distinguished career representing corporate/business clients and is listed as a Super Lawyer in Kansas and Missouri for Banking Law. Bob is also listed in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business for Corporate/M&A. In the 2009 edition, Chambers described him as “widely commended for his invaluable advice to the banking sector.” Bob was recently awarded an honorary doctorate degree in Humane Letters from Westminster College.
