FIFTH ANNUAL WORKSHOP ON COMMUNITY BANK INVESTMENTS, ASSET/LIABILITY MANAGEMENT & FUNDING STRATEGIES

SEPTEMBER 1-3, 2010         LAS VEGAS, NEVADA

The Fifth Annual Workshop on Community Bank Investments & Asset/Liability Strategies will be held September 1-3, 2010 in Las Vegas, NV.  GSBC hosts this event in conjunction with the University of South Carolina School of Bank Investments, and it is well-attended each year by community bankers from across the country!

The current economic environment presents significant challenges to community bankers in managing their security portfolios and overall interest rate risk in the balance sheet. This conference provides a critique of current investment alternatives, examines the trade-offs between different funding alternatives, offers contingency funding planning analysis and describes strategies to enhance portfolio performance and aggregate interest rate risk management practices. Attendees  learned about funding strategies that maximize long-term earning opportunities; risk-return features of mortgage-backed securities, callable agency securities, and municipal bonds; core deposit analytics; best practices in interest rate risk measurement and management.
